Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre Elizabeth was able to sight sing and accompany herself on the harpsichord, and also composed songs and played them in all of the keys asked of her at the age of 10. Elizabeth was the daughter of professional musician Jacquet de la Guerre. In her later years as a composer she enjoyed a reputation equal to that of contempories such as Francois Couperin. Elizabeth was born in France about 1667 and lived to 1729.
